LMSC English sites Lockdown!!

Postby chris depinna » Thu Jan 07, 2021 1:59 pm

Dear All Memebers

On Monday England entered another national lockdown, as with the previous lockdowns we cannot see how we are able to continue with our sport under these circumstances.

All English LMSC sites are now closed until further notice, please find link attached for GA guidance-
https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... l-aviation

Now would be a good time to check/service your gear and study the theory elements ready for when flying resumes, please contact our club coaches for any help (details on the website).

We thank you for your patience at this time, hopefully we will be able to fly again in time for the better weather.

Hope you stay safe.

Kind Regards,

LMSC Committee.

Please note for those of you who are monitoring the Mynd webcams with some level of envy. The only people who are authorised and therefore insured to fly are Instructors, tandem AEI and TI's. If you know of anyone who is not in that group and ignoring that CAA rule, I'm quite happy for you to name and shame them as it's just not fair on the rest of us.

A major argument for stopping flying was that landowners & the general public would see us & think we were being irresponsible. If schools etc are allowed to fly then that reason goes out of the window.

Flying without insurance isn't illegal - there will a small but significant number of PGers who are not BHPA or local club members. There is no effective method of identifying them.

I certainly won't be ratting on anybody, even if I know they have flown.
