Week beginning Monday 5th December
From tuesday we should have a completly new airmass with winds backing from NE to W. Howver in our area winds look a bit light for ridge soaring, but its a whole lot better than what weve had for the last month or more.
With the cold air, bear in mind it can be diffilcult to drive up the mynd due to ice

Actually looks flying weather today. Winds in the east of our area more likely backing N to NNW while in Wales Staying more NNE. Probably a bit windy for some PGs but forecasts do vary on that. My thoughts are Wrekin, Clunbury or Corndon just depending on that local wind direction.
Wednesday lighter winds and maybe more westerly but also maybe too light for much soaring.
Winds due to be even less on Thursday but a chance of rain/snow

Re: Week beginning Monday 5th December
Around here Tuesday did not turn out as nice ss expected with a lot of low cloud yet elsewhere plenty flew.
Wednesday is hopefully better. Winds NNW to NW with more wind due at the Wrekin than in the west. Some forecasts have it being nicely soarable others much kess. Options are Wrekin, Lawley or Clunbury. Lawley has better slope landing if it is light and scratchy.

Yesterday had the lawley off at NNW but soarable getting better as the wind backed NW. Wrekin was soarable in the afternoon too.
Today, all forecasts have it as too light wind to ridge soar and they vary in direction between NW and E.
Friday might be better and westerly.

Friday, all say it is going to be roughly W to WNW at the Long Mynd, but the wind speed forecasts are between really light and nicely soarable. There's a significant wind increase later but that's not due to until after dark. Might be some issues with the inversion level making it relatively turbulent depending on the time of day (thats relative to it being totally smooth if flying below the inversion).

Stull looks on at the Mynd today despite the wind being north at present. Beware of the spring water on the roads up as it will be badly frozen. Rattlinghope is usually the most reliable route up

Re: Week beginning Monday 5th December
The Mynd took s long time to get going yesterday but there was plenty of flying on the webcams in the afternoon.
Today is much more of a mixed bag of forecasts so difficult to preduct. Coukd be SW all day or it might go West . The wind could vary a lot during the day between too light and just right ir steady all day. Sunny all day or low cloud just above hill deteriorating in the afternoon.
So to sum up, Clatter or Shepherds Tump might be on or just possibly the Mynd or nowhere much good at all.

Again, unpredictable other than very light NE all day. Could be sunny with weak thrrmals and snowy with heavy cloud most of the day.
