Apologies for the delay, after yesterday’s guidance we needed to assess the situation.

In recognition of the current lockdown restrictions in England to combat the increasing COVID-19 infection rate it would be inappropriate & insensitive for pilots to continue flying during this period as it is not essential and risks bringing the sport into disrepute with the wider public who will be observing us.
Furthermore our landowners will not take kindly to pilots making unessential journeys onto their land and to be seen enjoying ourselves when they, their families, neighbours & local community are abiding by the lockdown government guidelines.
We ask all members to do their bit otherwise we could be putting our sites at risk as some of our Landowners have the whole community interests at heart, they wouldn’t think twice of stopping paragliding on their site should we be seen to ignoring the current restrictions and basically putting two fingers up to them and the local community.

We understand there will be many views on this but we feel this is the best way forward in these circumstances.

More information will follow with Wales coming out of Lockdown next Monday.

Kind regards,

LMSC Committee.
