Week beginning Monday 22nd June

Too windy probably even for HG's until Wednesday, which looks fairly promising for HG and PG, but the direction on forecasts varies quite a lot from south to East, so Wrekin SE may or may not be suitable unless the direction ends up being somewhere in between, and even then all foreacasts at present suggest it's top end for that site.

Weekend - forecasts vary a lot, so not sure yet

Wednesday still looking promising, but direction on forecasts still varying enough to make Wrekin difficult to confirm as suitable as might be too far east to make it soarable. Windspeed looks ok at present though, seems to have reduced a bit.

A dilemma for me as really not. sure about the Wrekin today. Some forecasts say it will be SE and an ok speed to safely launch a PG, others show ut mostly too much east in the direction and blown out during the afternoon. If it was not such a potentially risky spine back launch the O would definitely say worth the hike up. Elsewhere, the malverns may also be on the strong side as most forecasts say slightly windier down there, but the wind is due to be a bit more easterly so thats a positive for that site.
Thursday flyable but air not as good as today by the lapse charts.

Wednesday plenty flew at wrekin though got rather windy. Meanwhile at the malverns it was occasionally too windy for pg to launch , easy ridge soaring and thermals to over 6000ft were had by many for most of the day fron early afternoon.

Today, it looka like being too far east for the wrekin, however it mught come round enough late in the say as the wind mixes with the upper SE flow, however its also likely to be windier than yesterday. Malverns might be ok, but again due to be slighly windier than yesterday so an increased risk of not being able to launch. There were no HGs flying there yesterday which is a shame as it would have been perfect for them.

Friday, starts off early on as SSE or S and reasonable speed though rather too early for any decent thermals with a low inversion, then rapidly veers to SSW and gets a lot stronger which will preclude the Wrekin from being soarable. The charts don't indicate a decent soaring or thermalling day anyway.

The weekend looks naff, possible rain Saturday and blown out and then Sunday blown out as well.

Wrekin late morning looks like it should be flyable, but too windy and too far off by the afternoon.
