Long Mynd Bottom Landing Field -Further Update

Postby kevin williams » Thu Sep 26, 2019 3:50 pm

This morning I received a message from Paul Howell ( previous landowner) confirming that some of his fields including the Btm Landing Field had now been purchased by the National Trust.
Paul provided me with the name & contact details of the NT representative.
I immediately unsuccessfully attempted to call the individual as his phone was turned off. I have therefore sent him a message and are awaiting his call back.
I aim to seek a meeting in order to see if we can resume the use of the field for our Btm landings.
Watch this space.

It seems that The National Trust do support hang gliding & paragliding from their land. See the link...

Hopefully they will understand the importance of a bottom landing field to a flying site.
We all really appreciate the efforts of the committee for pursuing this.
Best of luck with the negotiations.

Just a short update. I have now secured a meeting with the Estates Manager of the NT to discuss our continued use of the Btm landing field. The meeting is on 16th Oct.
I’ll report back following the mtg.
