Long Mynd PG Bottom Landing *** CLOSED ***

Postby Brian Sanders » Sat May 25, 2019 4:53 pm

PG Bottom landing fields are closed until further notice due to the land being sold.
Top or slope landing only for paragliders.
HG Emergency overshoot agreements with a different landowner are still in place.

The club really needs to sort out the bottom landing fields problem. Today 4 hg's went down, with 2 landing in the wrong fields. Also several pg's went down. Can the committee get their finger out?!!

I guess the land sales are still in progress & we will need to wait till the dust has settled before we can contact the new owners regarding (continued) access - probably the best result - or try to get an agreement with a different landowner if there is one with a suitable field.

Obviously "unprepared" landings may still occur but best to try to keep them to a minimum. Maybe a little patience is called for. Rome wasn't built in a day I believe (though it may look like it was)!

PS. With no change to the HG bottom landing options, hangies going down in the wrong fields is just poor piloting IMV!
