Hang Gliding BOS competition

Postby Dave Thomas » Sat May 04, 2019 5:34 pm

Just been watching online - loads of HG pilots at goal on the coast of south Wales in Porthcawl - from 100 house, around the eastern side of Mynydd Eppynt danger area and then over the Brecon beacons followed by the ex mining valleys. Later Pilots are still flying on their way.

All being well they'll get another couple of task days in, or maybe three.

This was reported from two pilots about saturday. Wow.

Surprisingly smooth flying from builth/hh on hg but drift at times was 50km/hr max altitude reported at coast 8000ft in convergence

Did this 78km task in 1hr15 (64kph average). Notice the height gain after I reached the goal.....8400ft at the coast!!
