Week beginning Monday 17th September

Sadly at this moment it looks like there's no chance at all this week. Very windy and occasionally wet most of the time, with just the slightest hope for next weekend. Any change in the forecasts and we'll be onto it in a flash.

For the last couple of days, Saturday was looking reasonably promising, but that has now changed for the worse. Hope it might change back again, though less likely. However it may still be flyable, but won't suggest where yet as the depression looks to be quite close and a little change in location will affect us a lot. So I'm still hopeful but not as excited - It's so close to the end, anything half decent is good.

This morning, got excited again with a good forecast - west and on at the Mynd and just generally good. Tonights forecasts have gone poor again - possibly not even westerly at the Mynd. Huge amount of mid layer cloud everywhere too. Basically everything is changing too rapidly at present to hazard a guess at what it will be like in another 16 hours or so.

This morning the forecast for Saturday is even less good than ever before. Starts off looking a bit dismal but with a breeze from WSW and then backs round to south-ish and drops off and cloud thickens more with some rain later. Unless you go to the far north of England or Scotland, can't see anywhere else that looks worth travelling to.

Sunday, don't write today off just yet. It's due to clear by lunchtime and be NW and fairly breezy. There's some variance in the forecasts but I think a decent chance of flying long mountain this afternoon. Alternatively not sure if Llangollen will be blown out for HG, but North Wales coastal sites may well be good for HG and PG. Pennine areas look good too, but can't advise on sites suitable.
