Rest in Peace. Ernie Holmes at Wrekin Farm

Sadly, Ernie Holmes the Farmer and owner of the bottom landing field (SE side) at the Wrekin passed away two days ago from Pneumonia. Over the last few months his health had declined still this was so unexpected.

The Long Mynd Soaring Club on behalf of it's members very kindly arranged a beautiful bouquet that I took round to his wife Illene earlier today. She was overjoyed by both the flowers and learning that others are thinking of her in these difficult times.

For now Ernies two sons are sharing responsibility at the farm. They are Mark and Lee who along with Illene will continue to be accomodating when we land in their fields.
