Many of you may know that fellow Mynd pilot & Club Coach Richard Offa had a very bad paragliding incident whilst on holiday with Dennis Phillips in France back in early June. Richard severely damaged his L1 vertebrae and has very little feeling and movement in both feet and cannot walk at present. The recovery process is going to be long and complicated and may take up to two years. He has partial movement and feeling in his left foot but very little feeling and movement in his right foot.
Richard has now been transferred from Hereford hospital to the specialist spine unit at Gobowen Hospital in Oswestry. He is in Room 4 on the Wrekin Ward. Richard could now do with our support as fellow Paraglider pilots in this difficult period of his life. If you have any spare time on your hands then can I ask if you could visit him at sometime? I know this would be appreciated as he spends every day on his back looking up at the ceiling and is going stir crazy. He will be there for at least 2 months until he is well enough to go home. His partner Helen has a 100 mile round trip to visit him and this will be taking its toll I’m sure.
Even if you don’t know Richard why not send a card to cheer him up. I know it will be appreciated.

We've now had OFFER & OFFA !! I think we should do the guy the courtesy of spelling his name correctly - it's OFFOR according to the members' list.

However his name is spelt - and I'm probably guilty for misspelling it too - many thanks for the update Andrew. We sent a card a few weeks ago on behalf of the club, but it would be good if others could send them individually too.
