If anybody would like to claim their Bronze, Silver or Gold badge from the FAI - I now have the process for doing so.
To save some people a bit of time I'll let you know that they cost £11.00 each so if you're not prepared to pay that much, thats fair enough, no need to read any further.
If you disagree with the whole badge thing (like many people do), think they are for boy scouts, geeks, etc, thats fair enough, no need to read any further.
However if you DO want to claim your FAI badge and have your BHPA records updated to reflect this then follow the below process:-
Bronze Badge
Requirement:
PG & HG(Flex & Rigid) = 15km Distance or 1 hour Duration or 500m Height Gain
1. Goto http://www.bhpa.co.uk/members/forms/index.php
2. HG's need to download the form 'FAI_Eagle_delta.pdf'
3. PG's need to download the form 'FAI_Eagle.pdf'
4. Print the form and fill in the required fields for Distance, Duration or Height.
5. The form then needs to be signed by the task observer (Club Coach, Pilot rated or above).
6. Write a cheque payable to BHPA for the sum of £11.00.
7. Pop the whole lot in an envelope and send it to the BHPA.
8. After verification, your badge will be posted to you.
