Saturdday 15th July

Flyable most of the day, I think, at Corndon, though we didn't arrive until about 3.00pm. Lots of people out. Thermic at first, a bit up and down, though at least four people got away - one doing 35k, which, on a blue day, was excellent.

Later on, it became more generally soarable, probably a combination of ridge lift and some restitution. Moderately strong winds resulting in interesting take-offs and launches, much dragging on both, but very pleasant in the air.

Would have been OK for hang gliders too, though only paragliders flew. I'm not sure why so few hang gliders fly Corndon, the top landing is easy, and so long as you don't scratch too long, the bottom landing is easily reachable. And if you can get up the track - which is nice and dry at the moment - the carry up is short.
