Here are some apps that we might find useful.

Android

	View live weather observations, forecasts and webcams mashed up with your favourite paragliding sites to see which sites are flyable right now – all over the world.
	ParaJournal is an open source flight logbook application for paragliding and hanggliding pilots. It is currently released as a public Beta, so please keep that in mind when rating the app.

	GpsDump has now got an app for people with android tablets

Iphone

	OS Grid Converter is a free App by GPS Log allowing you to easily convert between British National Grid References (i.e. OS Grid Refs) and Latitude, Longitude coordinates (both OSGB36 and WGS84 are supplied).
	Flyskyhy forms your flight instrument during flight and shows all information you need for that. You get the normal data like altitude, climb rate, ground speed, and glide angle. But it also calculates and shows the current wind direction and strength, very important for your safety.
